“Welcome to Canada ...”
Where in 2025 our foodbanks were feeding 2.2 million Canadians a month; 2.5 million so far in 2026. Meanwhile, World Cup 2026 will cost Canadians $1 Billion to co-host a few FIFA soccer games. “Will that be Spam or Soccer?” And, in the “Can-you-believe-it” depart. – Canadians are starting “GoFundMe” for themselves, because of the cost of living (15,000 fundraised between Jan – May, 2026; an 8% increase from 2025).
Where Auditor General Karen Hogan notes that despite over 150,000 “International” students potentially non-compliant with the conditions of their program between 20023-24, only 4,000 investigations have ever been launched.
Where Canada’s intelligence agency CSIS determined that the People’s Republic of China (PRC) interfered in our 219, and 2021 Federal elections, funding 11 candidates to infiltrate the Parliament of Canada. When briefed, our former PM stonewalled ... and rejected a full public inquiry. Now our current PM is importing an initial 49,000 Chinese EV’s, which represents a very real espionage and data risk. While the U.K, Israel and Poland have laws banning these vehicles from military bases and sites, not Canada! Can it be our military bases have little to protect?
Where Woke lawyers are social workers, not prosecutors. They call it “wholistic defense” ... a legal ‘strategy’ that focuses on non-legal and civil issues — all without an MSW degree no-less.
Where politicians openly call on the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS; spy agency) to spy on Alberta’s independence, citizen-led, movement. When an Alberta Court quashed the 300,000 signed petition, Premier Smith determined it was “anti-democratic” and announced a non-binding referendum for October 19, 2026. When it was Quebec – they got ‘love’ ... not hassle! Oh yah, Quebec has more Federal seats than Alberta. OK, I get it!
Where prosthetic breasts the size of Miracle-Grow field pumpkins ... can be worn in an Oakville high school shop class (Halton District School Board) by someone wearing woman’s clothing (We used to call this cross-dressing). This is considered normal staff dress code by our school administrators and unions.
"I think things are so deeply, grindingly unfair
and bad and getting worse that we need
fundamental structural changes.”
Avi Lewis, Federal NDP Leader, April 18, 2026.
“Welcome to Canada ...”
Where our new Governor General of Canada, Louise Arbour, described Canadian soldiers as “white boys who like guns and don’t like women” (Macleans, July 2022). Arbour, a past Chief Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunal (ICT), was a major force behind today’s permanent International Criminal Court (ICC) – an organization heavily aided, funded and lobbied by the private money of George Soros's Open Society Foundations. With the ICC’s credibility, judicial independence and prejudicial bias increasingly compromised, and its efforts to work against the sovereignty of nation states (ask the Philippines) ... Louise deserves to be watched carefully by Canadians during her five-year term.
Where “binary” used to be a mathematic term. Now, in these victim culture-war days, it’s on par with “bigot,” “racist” and “homophobic” and used to bludgeon anyone silly enough to believe there are only men and women. It’s an orthodoxy that is slowly being forced on all Canadians who refuse to buy into this pseudoscience and ideologically driven media environment. Talk of men having babies is nothing short of moronic, but you can’t say that – because you are not being ‘supportive,’ or ‘empathetic.’
Where 600 of our national Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) enforcement officers, who are to protect Canadians, are themselves under investigation (Feb. 2026; CBC News), facing disciplinary charges.
Where sustainable immigration levels are imaginary, and where illegal immigrant levels are estimated at 600,000, according to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Canada does not seem to know what ‘responsible’ immigration looks like.
Recently 17 Canadian Visa holders were charged with 109 offences: extortion, firearms, arson and conspiracy. Another 16 in Alberta charged with extortion, all on student or work Visas. Not small stuff.
If found guilty, my money says they stay in Canada!
Where Canadian procurement disasters (i.e. Phoenix Pay System, ArriveCAN, Canada Border Services Agency Assessment and Revenue Management system) go hand-in-hand with the Feds lack of central oversight, rules hindering competition and innovation, and where it stupefyingly takes an average of 16 years to approve and buy new equipment, a 66% increase since 2004.
“Welcome to Canada ...”
Where for the first time the Maple Leaf has finally met its NATO defence responsibility of spending 2% of its GDP — 20 years after agreeing to it (Nov. 2006). We can thank Trump! Montenegro, with a population smaller than that of Mississauga, Ontario, met its 2% commitment some time ago. We want to be treated as an equal in the NATO partnership, but without the cost.
Where the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) during the COVID-19 lockdown, accessed cell-tower location as surveillance tools to track 33 million Canadian mobile devices – all in the name of national security. Bill C-22 is coming next (Police search powers). Folks should read, or re-read, George Orwell’s “Animal Farm,” or Aldous Huxley’s “Brave New World,” to see where we are headed.
Where Canada’s Parliament suspended sitting for 3 months (prorogued from Jan. 6 – March 24, 2025). No representation! No votes! No national emergency! The action was intended to terminate all parliamentary investigations, committee work ... and potential non-confidence motions against a minority government. There is little debate that the clock-out was politically motivated to avoid government scrutiny. Meanwhile, the House of Commons sat for 72 days in 2025, one of the lowest totals in Canadian legislative history. Here in Ontario, MPP’s sat for 51 in 2025. Are the Feds and province competing? Taxpayers deserve money back!
Where all 5 former living Governor generals can each bill the taxpayer up to $206,040 a year for the rest of their lives, on top of their pensions (which average $150,000 per year), for expenses related to having held the office. That is far more than most working Canadians make in a year. The GG salary for 2026 is $393,800. Since 1979, when this Life-Long Expense Program began, this government ‘give-away’ has been shrouded in secrecy. Special perks for special people, it appears. Recent speeches about reigning in spending is just chatter!
The border screening app, ArriveCAN, cost $80,000. It grew to $59.5 million. Then came the Liberals Curam project, a software system to distribute federal payments. Original cost (2017) $1.75 billion; now $6.6 billion (2030-31) — the most expensive government IT modernization project in Canadian history.
Where Canadian MP’s, already among the highest paid politicians in the world ($218,000 base; 2026), are the only politicians in the G7 who have taken a guaranteed, automatic pay raise every single year, since 2013. In Canada, politician salaries spike faster than our food prices.
Where our National Broadcaster, the CBC, is fully vested in not only defeating Trump ... BUT Alberta too. How else do we explain the consistently negative press BOTH get? Anyone remember the last time Alberta was projected in a positive light? Didn’t think so! Canadians continue to bank-roll a broadcaster committed to ideology over balanced news ... even as CBC mandarins say “It’s not true,” while trying to keep a straight face. Think not? Ask former CBC host Travis Dhanraj.
Where the government wasted over $200 Billion of federal taxpayer money to a 2035 emission reduction target to fight climate change. Spread over 149 government programs and administered by 13 federal departments ... the government is not sure which programs worked, failed or were duplicates. That’s right – they don’t know. Why? Because there has never been a comprehensive audit of the climate strategy. Plus, this does not even include the 364 provincial programs and those wasted dollars. Did you know that today we use more fossil fuel energy then we did in 1990, the date of the Kyoto Climate Accord? Don’t believe me? Check it out yourself.
“Welcome to Canada ...”
Where Alberta contributes economically to the entire country, yet Quebec gets the lion’s share of equalization payments ($13.6 Billion), while politically extorting the Feds for more ... AND resisting any attempt to get Western crude to Eastern Canadian refineries. In 2025, Atlantic Canada was importing about 280,000 barrels per day of crude. As we would say in French, “Aucune exploitation des richesses, toujours la péréquation de l'alberta” [No exploitation of the country's resources, just equalization payments from Alberta].
Since 2019, Canada's GDP per capita has declined while the U.S. has seen significant growth – the largest underperformance of the Canadian economy since 1965. Canada's GDP per capita is now on par with poorer states like Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas. 2
Where our Canadian military publicly raises a flag on “International Transgender Day of Visibility” (CFB, Halifax); March 31, 2026) but privately tries to keep secret, a 2025 report that between 72-78% of the CAF are overweight or obese. Apparently it is easier to raise a flag then do push-ups. Poorly executed military spending and a decline in our defence abilities has made us sovereign in ‘name,’ but not capability. Canada is not equipped to defend its sovereignty, but let’s keep pretending.
Where our globe-trotting PM, says "Canada, very much at the forefront, will take child safety seriously” as he looks to ban kids from social media platforms (Bill C-34). Yet his government permits children to receive transition-related medical treatments, such as puberty blockers and hormones, plus gender-affirming “top-surgery” — even though a child is a minor (7% for 2022-23, excluding Quebec). Mom would say, “That’s speaking out of both sides of your mouth.” Mom was smart!
Even our PM has little confidence in Canada’s economy, as almost all of Carney’s stock portfolio is American
(NP, April 14, 2026).
Where, the official orthodoxy of multiculturalism in Canada (adopted 1971) continues to promote division and ghettoization – with social silo’s populating the country. Look at Quebec nationalism and say multiculturalism is working. The political slogan “diversity is our strength” is an illusion, as “pro-Hamas’ demonstrations, harassment of Jews and other inter-ethnic and sectarian hatreds persist in our big cities.
Where Canadian authorities have identified at least seven clandestine CCP ‘police’ stations in major cities like Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, manned by Chinese public security bureau’s (UFWD) to monitor, intimidate and pressure diaspora communities. A parliamentary public inquiry in 2025 determined China was "the most active perpetrator of state-based foreign interference targeting Canada's democratic institutions." The Canadian Centre for Cyber Centre confirms that upwards of 20 Canadian government networks have been compromised by Chinese state-sponsored actors over the past four years ... with intelligence reporting the presence of over 1,000 active spies and informants ... and The Montreal Institute for Global Security calls Chinese foreign interference in Canada “systemic.” Think of it as ‘Criminal Tourism.’ So - when do we announce we have been conquered by the Chinese? 3
Now as legitimate as a tonsillectomy, euthanasia has become therapy under the Liberals. MAID is not care! It is the satisfying of a death wish, even when you are not dying. “Do No Harm” is passé!
Where the Federal government can hide from Canadians the true cost of their buy-back gun confiscation scheme, by claiming it falls under “Cabinet Confidences.” Too funny! No oversight = No accountability ... and this government believes it does not have to answer to Canadians. The Public Safety Minister, Gary Anandasangaree, was recently caught on a leaked audio recording expressing doubts about the program’s logic. Yup – it’s fundamentally political. Think Optics!
Where you can legally kill babies in an abortion clinic, but be arrested, and serve prison time for praying outside one.
Where the Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg, installs an exhibit on the ‘Palestinian Displacement of 1948’... with no political or historical context or reference to the 850,000 Jewish who were displaced and forced to flee Arab countries at the SAME time!
FACT — ALL of those in the land in ’48 were Palestinians, not simply Arabs.
FACT — Arab nations were those who rejected the U.N. plan to establish both a ‘Palestinian’ and Israeli State and took up arms against the Jews and started the Arab-Israeli War of 1948. No mention of this in the exhibit.
FACT — 850,000 Jews were forced to flee Arab nations AT THE SAME TIME. Apparently only Arabs deserve ‘Human Rights’ here in Canada.
FACT — Isha Khan, the museum’s CEO – is a practicing Muslim. I’m shocked. Not!
“Welcome to Canada ...”
Where the Federal government’s use of the Emergences Act to crush the 2022 "Freedom Convoy" protests was unreasonable, illegal, and more importantly unconstitutional, failing to meet the strict legal thresholds required to invoke the Act. Marshal law to clear a street in Ottawa? It might have been an annoying protest, but there was “no threat to the security of Canada.” Shame on the government!
Where anything undertaken by a First Nation cannot be questioned in Canada. Period! To do so brings accusations of racism, bigotry, or discrimination.
Where there are over 70 commemorative heritage days and months for Irish, Hindus, Seniors, Transgenders, Pride, Islamophobia ... plus ... plus ... plus. So, what happens when we run out of months for culture and lifestyles? But don’t look for ‘anything’ Christian – and I do mean “anything.” Canada’s legal, constitutional and parliamentary foundations was shaped overwhelmingly by Christianity ... and scripture on the Peace Tower testifies to this. Yet, according to Ottawa, Christianity does not have a heritage in this country, certainly not one that deserves recognition. We do have an Arab month however (April). Wonderful!
Where the ‘serviceability’ rate for our navy currently sits at 68% ... the army at 51% ... and the air force at 42%. After 159 years as a nation, we should have stuff that works, so that we can defend ourselves. Even as I write, only one of our four existing Victoria-class subs works. Hmm! I wonder if all of those working at the ‘serviceable’ 3,570 Tim Horton stores through the Temporary Foreign Workers Program (TFWP) would lend us a hand if invaded? Personally, I would recommend looking to the returning “Dunkin Donuts” franchise. After all, the company is American, and the US has been protecting us for as long as I can remember.
Alberta is the largest net contributor per capita to the Canadian Equalization Program, yet has not received an equalization since 1964-65. Meanwhile, Quebec receives $13 Billion per year as it rejects any West-linked pipeline through their province, eastward.
“Welcome to Canada ...”
Where provincial governments put pastors in jail for violating provincial public health orders against holding church services during COVID-19, yet supported wide open LCBO’s (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) – so alcoholics could get their fix and Canadians in general could self-medicate and remain reasonably docile during the pandemic.
Where the Great White North’s MAID (Medical Assistance in Dying) killing program will soon cross the sickening six-figure threshold (National Post). That’s about 45 Canuks euthanized every day. In Canada, this regime of death is considered a mental health tool. Did you know you can die the same day you apply (Chief Coroner of Ontario’s Medical Assistance in Dying Review Committee Report, 2024 [MDRC]). We are on the forefront of a moral disaster.
Jocelyn Downie, a MAID activist told Parliament (March 24, 2026) that the mentally ill must have access to euthanasia to prevent them from committing suicide. Now THAT’S a coherent argument. Duh!
Where our justice system in principle is singular, but in actuality two-tiered, often handling offenders based on their immigration status ... not equal justice under the law (2013 Supreme Court of Canada ruling; R. v. Pham). Did you know that Immigration Officials even send out letters to criminal, permanent residents asking them to ‘stop,’ rather than deport them (National Post, April 24, 2026). Race-based justice, where non-whites get reduced sentences and lighter sentences for non-citizens, is NOT a myth.
Where over $524,800 was spent on in-flight food and beverages for the PM’s trips in his first year (March 2025-Feb. 2026), an amount that “exceeds the average Canadian family spends on food in 30 years,” says Canadian Taxpayers Federation; $21,000 on one 2-hour flight to Washington; $195,000 for 3 trips. Carney repeatedly said he would “spend less on government operations and reduce wase.” Meaningless words ... as our living standards continue to deteriorate and Canadians pay more than one billion $$$ a week on interest payments.
Where Canadian veterans are honoured with our flag hanging at hang-mast for 24 hours. ... but hysteria over unmarked, undocumented, uninterred graves at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School has the Canadian flag flying at half-mast on all federal buildings for over 5 months (May 30 to November 7, 2021); offering as someone said, “Repeated apologies based on half- digested facts.”
Where Canadian Human Rights Tribunals, masquerading as true courts of law, fine a person $10,000 for ‘private speech’ between friends (British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal, June, 2026). To no one’s surprise – transgenderism was the favoured topic. Here a ‘hierarchy of rights’ allows courts to leverage punitive decisions, especially against Christians practicing religious freedom. Now that Bill C-9 is law — Christians who express genuine beliefs on things like transgenderism will become ‘target-rich’ opportunities for left activists – particularly among the Queer community. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms – section 2(b) is becoming meaningless! These Tribunals (HRT) and Commissions (HRC), unaccountable and led by unelected people, are destructive tools in our society and belong in the waste bucket.
Where since May 2021, some 132 Christian churches across Canada have been destroyed or damaged by fire and vandalism, because of irresponsible, false journalism about alleged mass graves at a residential school. To date, one conviction (2024). The Federal response has been predictable: it is "unacceptable and wrong.” That took a lot of energy!
“Welcome to Canada ...”
Where the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), already owed at least $10 billion in COVID-related benefits, still approves massive million-dollar refunds to fraudulent claims, including a $63 million claim (2023), a $40 million claim (2024), and a refund of $4,958,716.63 to a business women in B.C. whose tax documents say she typically makes $54,000. The CRA regularly fails its own internal multiple audit procedures ... as it successfully annoys thousands of average Canadians who owe money.
With 75% of our exports flowing south, our fixation on anything but Washington, is a diversification fantasy. Our rail and pipelines reflect this cold, hard, geographic reality. Nor is China’s Xi Jinping a viable alternative for a democracy like Canada, or an enterprise we should seek shelter under – just because folks are mad at Trump.
Where Canada’s Access to Information Act has not been updated in over forty years and this statutory obligation to review every 5 years the Lobbying Act has been ignored, with the last one in 2012 – allowing the Feds to foot drag, avoid scrutiny and keep Canadians perpetually in the dark. In fact, observers warn that there is growing, unprecedented authority within the federal cabinet and the Prime Minister's office, often described as excessive centralization that limits parliamentary accountability.
Where our definition of ‘Democracy’ includes casting a ballot about every 5 years for the candidate of your choice and party ... who when elected can cross the floor to shack up with a party that you did not vote for and which does not represent you. There is no Elections Canada mechanism in place to force a by-election when an MP switches parties – and politicians like it that way. It is called “Political Immunity.” Fundamentally NOT democratic, it is a shameful betrayal of Canadians voting rights. The government is to reflect the will of the people ... not entice political opponents over to their side with promised career opportunities. You cross – you face a by-election!
Not surprisingly, the CBC, looking to defend this current government, said, “The complaint that Canadians didn't vote for a majority government is flawed — none of the ballots in last year's election gave voters a choice between a majority or minority government.” (Aaron Wherry, CBC, April 25, 2026). Really! Yes folks, this is what a $1.38 billion annual handout to the CBC gets Canadians – Knuckle-headed statements.
Canadian politicians who ‘cross the floor’ defeat the democratic will of the people — for the seat belongs to the constituents! They cross to advance their careers, because for them, Parliament is a corporate ladder, not the seat of government. Not that they care!
Where Canada’s foreign student’s program is better monitored by fraudsters, than our own government. Are neanderthals running the program?
Where the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Tim Hodgson, at the Empire Club of Canada (April 24, 2026) touts that “In the first two months of 2026, we approved two new mines, which, together, will produce enough uranium to power 40 million homes. Let me repeat that: 40 million homes. That is more than double the number of homes we have in Canada.” Wow! Great! So, 40 million Canadians will enjoy cheap electricity in the near future? Nope! Nuclear power in Canada is concentrated in 2 provinces (Ontario / NB) and together they generate 15% of Canada’s total electrical supply. The approximately 85% of that Canadian uranium production however, according to Natural Resources Canada, is exported for the benefit of others – not Canadians. Though we are an energy rich country – I suggest you buy yourself another cord of wood for this winter and ignore Hodgson’s spin.
“Welcome to Canada ...”
Where the Bloc Quebecois (BQ), an ‘official’ federal party sitting in the House of Commons, exists only to leverage Quebec interests against Canada and, ultimately, separation – nothing more! Pressuring Ottawa with ultimatums, it extracts concessions during minority governments, works against the greater interests of the country (think West to East pipeline) and has even served as the Official Opposition (1993-97), because Canadian law allows it. When Quebec wanted out, no talk of its duty to consult First Nations ... AND, she got a Canada-wide lovefest. When Albertans speaks of separation – just hostility! The CBC consistently postures Alberta negatively. Of course, Alberta, unlike Quebec, has never been a CBC favourite flavour!
“Blaming the U.S. for socio-economic problems at home is an exercise in scapegoating dressed up as analysis. Canada’s productivity crisis did not begin in 2017.
Start staring in the mirror.”
Stephen Nagy. ‘Canada’s Dangerous Obsession with Donald Trump.’
National Review. April 12, 2026
Where the 2025/26 federal deficit according to Canada’s Parliamentary Budget Officer (PBO) will reach $72 billion and projected to hover around $64 billion over each of the next five years, declining to $58.2 billion by 2030-31. AND, there is no clear plan to return to a balanced budget. 4 The previous PBO, Jason Jacques, who said the government's spending and deficits were "unsustainable" and "stupefying", did not have his contract renewed. No kidding!
According to the Canadian Taxpayers Federation and the Fraser Institute, from 2025-26 to 2028-29, the government will borrow between $225-$242 billion — double what the former PM planned to borrow. Since Canadians voted for this government, we deserve it! BTW – the federal debt interest charges this year will cost $60 billion ($80.2 billion by 2030-31) – meaning every dollar we pay in federal sales tax goes to pay interest on our debt. Clearly the Feds aren’t worried ... so why should we!
Where we are unable to feed ourselves, even though we are the 9th largest exporter of agri-food. We are in fact, the 11th largest importer of food, with 72% of our vegetables coming from abroad. With almost 10 million Canadians (one in four; 2.4 million children) living in food-insecure households (Statistics Canada) and food banks populating the land, Canada is unable to meet a basic human right – food security.
Where the Canadian military’s 2017 authorized strength target of 71,500 is expected to be reached in 2029 and the multiple bottlenecks in the training system will be figured out by 2032 (fingers crossed). A 15-page leaked internal report (April, 2026; confirmed by Lt.-Col. Marc Kieley) notes that even with “relaxed recruiting standards” (think – lower, collapsing standards!), only 77% of new recruits are completing their basic training. According to the report, one of the culprits is mental-health concerns. Great! And we give them guns.
Where our Canada Revenue Agency (4,500 agents) provides the right answer 17% of the time says the Auditor General. So, they underperform 83% of the time – with no job loss ... AND no penalty? Wish it worked that way for the average, non-government employee.
Where the government is recruiting to our military more foreign nationals and those with permanent residency (some in Canada as little as 3 months). Neither status are classified as Canadian citizens, but citizens of other countries — yet they are expected to protect Canadians. Imagine — our very own ‘French Foreign Legion’ After all, recruits are trained in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. But – it gets even more bizarre when we learn that inter-ethnic fighting and cultural conflicts are breaking out inside the officer training platoons on bases. Seems the Cameroons and Côte d'Ivoire recruits, among others, cannot get along. They will be loyal to Canada though, I’m confident!!!!!!
OK – enough! I am really not looking to score points – though some reading will no doubt conclude that I am! What I am looking to do, is shine the light on lingering incompetence and partisanship, and offer some bracing honesty about the condition we have put ourselves in.
There is no satisfaction in gaining a ‘win’ over someone who has not bothered to do their own heavy lifting ... or who believes the message coming out of Parliament and our legacy media is consistently factual, transparent and unbiased. I give you the advice of legendary Casey Stengel - “look it up.” The information is readily available. By all means – check my ‘facts.’ When you do the math ... you will find the maladroitness is staggering. While it’s easy to say that our inflationary pressures and economic uncertainty is being driven externally, it’s Ottawa’s domestic policy failures that have brought us to close ruin.
The narcissist has a predictable tactic: blame someone else for their own failings. How about folks stop
fixating their visceral hatred on the Big Bad Orange Man, back away from their collective indignation, and be honest about how our country’s poor choices
and failures have led us to be in decline?
Like most, I am just an average Canadian — ‘All-In.’ I hold one passport ... vote like a good little Canadian is supposed to ... pay my taxes in-country (no off-shore accounts for me) ... have never been in jail (except when I worked as a Corrections Officer in Millbrook, Ontario) ... and I have only 1 speeding ticket in 54 years of driving. Yes – it was my fault! No appeal made to poor parenting, missed desserts, or drinking from the water hose in my childhood.
Some reading here might offer, “Well, you know, these are tough times and most countries are struggling.” Quit the excuses ... and stop with the deflection, because it is simply cultural smugness – a nationalistic delusion, that prevents Canadians from addressing their own crises and the fractures many refuse to see.
I’m tired of political mismanagement ... and government figures selling snake-oil and mirages to Canadians every election cycle as they advance their careers ... and tell the rest of us how we are to live our lives – while living by their own rules, in their gated communities. What you do defines you, not what you say.
I’m tired ... not of the 2 or 3 poor policy decisions our leaders have made along the way, but the accumulated weight and dominoing effect of endless ill-conceived decisions ... unkept promises ... realigning of Charter guardrails ... poorly managed ministerial portfolio’s ... fleeing investment ... shifting immigration policies ... cronyism ... unrelenting / escalating taxation ... renewed discrimination ... mounting government non-transparency ... net-zero climate goals by 2050 that have cost this country billions, and the incremental erosion of religious speech, freedoms and quality of life.
When German Chancellor Scholz visited Canada (August, 2022) pleading for more natural gas, Canada’s answer was, “No business case” to support LNG exports to Europe. Between 2022-24, the U.S. signed over 57 supply agreements with Europe for 73 million metric tons of LNG annually;10 major deals in 2025 alone. In 2026, the U.S. is projected to supply two-thirds of Europe's total LNG imports ... a number expected to climb to 80% by 2030. U.S. – Smart! Canada – Dumb!
I’m tired of teachers with poor performance records and teacher union-driven indoctrination of our children, thinking they own our kids, fighting for control over their hearts and minds ... except of course during contract negotiations, when they conveniently become leverage tools, pawns in this growing sector of greed – without results.
I’m tired of temps working illegally, the systemic gaming of Canada’s generosity and claiming fraudulent asylum, applying for benefits not to work while hoping for blanket amnesty from the Feds ... and inter-ethnic blood feuds, including those happening among military cadets who are citizens of a different country, and who are supposed to protect this land.
I’m tired of the skubala (Philippians 3:8) pushed by agenda driven social scientists like those at McMaster University who cry that hate groups (a.k.a. Conservatives, Christians), are trying to “erase,” “dehumanize,” or ‘exterminate’ trans and queers. Actually, all reasonable people are opposed to the social re-engineering of minors (as if they were lab rats) and without parental consent ... the pressuring and pre-mature emasculation of adolescents moving through their physical, cognitive and psychosocial development stage ... and the fantasy driven and non-sensical, pseudo-science that pushes gender as fluid.
I’m tired of millionaire politicians digging Canadians deeper and deeper into debt-slavery (Federal fiscal capacity is strained – and close to its limits), expecting us to pay our bills ... while they thrive off government perks and expense accounts, heavily subsidized pensions, automatic cost of living increases ... and then cruising into a rainbow-filled retirement. The Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has downgraded Canada’s prospects to 2060 to dead last out of the 38 nations that make up the organization (Financial Post). Sure – we’re thriving!
I’m tired of a decade-long productivity problem, with regional economies drifting further apart and our labour productivity growth losing ground, lagging seriously behind other advanced economies. Canada has a world-class oil and gas industry (163 billion barrels of proved oil reserves – 4th largest globally), and global demand is going to continue to increase, like it or not!
While activists, domestic and abroad, look to destroy and land-lock our fossil fuel infrastructure, we should be a preferred global supplier, while supporting our natural resource development in all areas. The scale of our problems economically are enormous and mostly self-inflicted. 5 https://thehub.ca/2024/09/05/trevor-tombe-the-great-divergence-canadas-economic-gap-with-the-u-s-reaches-a-new-record/
In 2011, the average Canadian was 4% richer than an average American. Thirteen years later the average American was 40% richer than the average Canadian.
I’m tired of the divisive, increasingly hostile rhetoric among the political class with their partisan, in-your-face, policy choices based on ideological behaviour —— eroding the life out of this country, and setting Canadian against Canadian. I am not open to being lectured on ‘Canadian’ values ... or parroting approved, trivial ‘Elbows Up,’ nonsense ... used to cover up the ineptitude by those asleep at the wheel.
I’m tired of our national broadcaster (CBC) with its corrosive media-porridge of identity-politics and agenda-driven drivel, targeting and scapegoating anything with common-sense ... and who marginalize conservative perspectives, framing social conservative values as “extreme-right” behaviour. No wonder CBC television broadcasts only draw between 2%-4% of the total Canadian audience. In an age of misinformation, folks have turned the channel, because it is not trusted.
And “Yes,” I’m tired of coercion dressed up to look like culture and whose strategy has long been to enforce silence.
A foundation does not a house make. So here is the “Inconvenient Truth’ — Canada is in decline! “No, you do not have to agree ... and No, I am not looking for God to write social policy on tablets and give them to us from the roof top of Mt. Sinai Hospital in Toronto.” Nor am I trying to distort situations here to fit an ideology. You are welcome to indulge in the impulse of wishful thinking about this country all you wish. I really don’t care!
This July 1st. 2026 Canada is 159 years old. And though we have not yet reached free-fall terminal velocity, we have certainly lost our way.
The “Inconvenient Truth,” is that the Confederation mirror is slowing serious cracks! As a nation, we are quietly falling apart, as we turn victimhood into a national sport with its endless chatter about suffering, discrimination and systemic disadvantage!
Our country is not immune from the accumulated clumsiness and self-serving devices of those who use high office and the ideological vocabulary of oppression and victimhood ... to re-create Canadian society into something that is utterly self-absorbed ... as they move us towards a growing, declining institutional trust and democratic deficit ... and push us towards their new world order where global consensus rules and we cede our powers. Yes – there is an intentionality in deconstructing the framework of this country ... and, yes, Canadians have become a nation of sleeping sheep, as the recent Abacus Data poll suggests (May 24, 2026). 6
“Canada needs more trade-enabling energy infrastructure: more pipeline and export capacity to the west, where our Pacific geography gives us a natural advantage into Asia for both oil and LNG; serious new options to the east ... can better connect us to Europe; and enabling infrastructure in the north.” 7
Public Policy Forum, March 19, 2026.
The good news, if there is any, is that given our long glide-path down the rabbit-hole, towards economic self-destruction by career minded ideologues more committed to saving the planet then saving the nation ... Bucky the Canadian Beaver, on a pogo stick, with one webbed paw tied behind his back, if voted in, could not possibly do us any greater harm than that which we have already suffered at the hands of leaders. Maybe we should vote for Bucky the next time? Seriously, we need a spiritual awakening, but that is another blog, for another time.
Trudeau, our former PM, once gleefully declared, Canada has entered a period of “post-nationalism,” And exactly what does that term mean, you ask? It means “... after the death of Canada.” It means we risk ending up like the great empires of the Aztecs, Romans and others – buried in the earth; their mortal remains the residual remnants of what were once great nations. Yes, even powerful empires can collapse.
Enjoy July One! Wave the flag! Take in the fireworks you are paying for! Celebrate Canada’s 1-0 win over South Africa in the FIFA World Cup. Keep your “elbows up” against that big meanie to our South – as you continue to buy US products. And, dismiss any grievances that Albertans express as they are treated like a colony to be pillaged by Ottawa (e.g. uneven equalization payments, resistance to pipelines, oil tanker bans, hostile carbon policies).
The ‘Inconvenient Truth’ this Canada Day is that Canadians deserve better than they have been treated by our leaders and other influence peddlers —— people driven by sociopolitical nonsense, personal gain and global agenda’s -- rather than common sense. Canadians seem to believe that our Dominion and its wealth will endure forever. Yet, here we are 159 years later, celebrating our sovereignty and waving our flag, while unable to feed ourselves ... fuel ourselves ... and for sure, defend ourselves. “Only Saying ...”

5. Activist and elitist, David Suzuki, speaking at a ‘Funeral for the Future’ protest on Vancouver Island said, “...there are going to be pipelines blown up if our leaders don’t pay attention to what’s going on.” (Nov. 2021). This comment by the god-father of Canada’s environmental movement was so dangerous, reckless, and irresponsible that even the David Suzuki Foundation distanced itself from his comments. This is how rabid environmental activists are.
6. Abacus Data poll — 47% of Canadians say country headed in the right direction; 39% on wrong track ... while 76% believe the world is headed in wrong direction. Yup – Sheep.
